How visible is your site to AI search? A 15-check mini-audit

This free AI visibility mini-audit is a 15-question worksheet across access, answers, identity, evidence and measurement. You get the gaps to fix first, the next step and tool for each, and a downloadable report. It is a first pass from your own answers, with no score, and it runs in your browser.

The full AI visibility audit tests real AI answers and reviews your pages. This worksheet does not. Last reviewed 2 November 2026.

Part 1

Use the tool

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

1. How does your site measure up on 15 checks?

Answer each question yes, no or not sure. You get a list of gaps by area, the next step for each, and a report you can download. There is no score. Each report uses one of your free tool runs.

Part 2

How it works, how to read it, and its limits

The method, what the result means, how it differs from other tools, and what it cannot do.

2. What does the mini-audit cover?

Five areas, three questions each: access, answers, identity, evidence and measurement.

Mini-audit areas
AreaWhat it asks about
AccessCrawlers, visible text and the sitemap
AnswersDirect answers, one topic per page, facts in text
IdentityOne entity page, matching names and profiles, honest structured data
EvidenceSources and dates, original data, authorship
MeasurementWeekly prompts, separate outcomes, referral tracking

3. What is the difference between this and the full audit?

The mini-audit is a first pass from what you already know. The full audit tests real AI answers and reviews your pages.

4. How should you answer?

Answer yes only when you have checked, and choose not sure when you have not.

  • An unanswered or not-sure question is listed to check, never counted as a pass.
  • Use the linked tool for each area to check the answer before you change it.
  • Run it again after you fix the gaps.

A. In what order should you fix the gaps?

Fix access first, then answers, then identity and evidence, and set up measurement so you can see the effect.

  1. Access: nothing else matters if crawlers and readers cannot reach the page.
  2. Answers: make each key page answer its question directly.
  3. Identity: make clear who stands behind the site, and align your profiles.
  4. Evidence: add sources, dates and something original.
  5. Measurement: start the weekly record so you can see change.

B. What should you ask before paying for an audit?

Ask what will be tested, on which platforms, with what evidence, and what is promised.

  • What is checked and what is not.
  • Which platforms and prompts are tested, and how often.
  • Whether the results are dated and repeatable.
  • Whether anything is guaranteed. Nobody can guarantee an AI citation or ranking.

The verification rubric gives eight criteria you can check yourself.

5. Questions about the mini-audit

Short answers on scope, scoring and data.

What is an AI visibility audit?

A review of whether AI answers name or cite you for your buyer questions, and what prevents it: access, answer structure, identity, evidence and measurement.

Is the mini-audit really free?

Yes. It is a first-pass worksheet. It does not replace testing real AI answers.

Does it give me a score?

No. It lists gaps by area. Adding the areas together would hide which one needs work.

Is my data stored?

No. Your answers stay in your browser and are not uploaded.

What do I do with the report?

Fix the gaps in order, starting with access. Download the report to share it with your team.

6. What can this mini-audit not do?

It records what you tell it. It cannot check your site or any AI answer.

  • It cannot verify your answers; a yes you have not checked is still a yes in the report.
  • It does not test any AI platform.
  • It treats every question as equally worth asking; a real audit weighs them for your site.
